Description
Clearwater Beach sits at the end of the causeway in Clearwater, Florida, with Pier 60 as the landmark. The pier has sunset festivals, a playground, and fishing. South of the pier is the wider tourist beach; north is a bit quieter toward Sand Key.
Parking is the hard part. Expect paid lots and garages near Pier 60 and along Mandalay Avenue, plus beach-meter spots that fill early on weekends. If the causeway lots are full, turn around before you sit in traffic on the bridge.
Swimming is typically calm Gulf water with lifeguards on the main stretch in season. For a less crowded sand day, look at nearby Sand Key or the boat to Caladesi Island rather than the Pier 60 crowd.

Wheelchair-friendly paths and paid parking available.
White quartz sand, raked near Pier 60 and softer toward the waterline. Packs hard by the boardwalk; bring water shoes if you walk the hot dry stretch at midday.
