Description
Bunche Beach is a San Carlos Bay / Estero Bay preserve beach on the mainland side of Fort Myers — shallow, mangrove-backed, and bay-facing rather than an open-Gulf barrier strand like Fort Myers Beach. People come to kayak, wade, birdwatch, and spot manatees in calm water; it is not a Times Square swim day. Parking and a simple access serve the preserve; bring bug spray and check tides. For open Gulf waves and pier energy, cross to Estero Island instead.

Light crowds create a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for those seeking a calm, uncrowded beach day.
Free parking ensures easy access to this quiet, scenic beach destination.
Fine bay-side sand and mudflat edge — softer and often darker than Gulf barrier sand; better for wading and kayak launch than deep swimming.
